Search for Singing Ambassador 2009 is on

Cagayan de Oro City (11 September) — In line with the Tourism Week celebration from September 16 to 18, 2009, the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office invites local singing talents to audition in the Search for the Singing Ambassador of Northern Mindanao on Sunday, August 13, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the City Tourism Hall.

City Tourism Officer Imma Rae D. Gatuslao said the city is looking for young male and female singers, ages 18 to 21 years old, who can help promote our Philippine culture and arts through singing, and gain the prestige of being Cagayan de Oro City”s representative as Singing Ambassador for Northern Mindanao.

Contestants are expected to compete in male and female categories based on the following criteria: Voice Quality (diction/enunciation, voice distinction and tonal quality) 40%; Stage Performance (performance level, showmanship, timing projection, confidence) 30%; Star Quality (total personality packaging, style, bearing, appropriateness of attire) 20% and Audience Impact (ability to capture audience attention) 10%.

First prize winner will receive P10,000 plus trophy while second and third prize winners will get P7,000 plus trophy and P5,000 plus trophy respectively. A consolation prize of P1,000 awaits to all non-winning contestants.

The final competition will be held on September 18, 2009, 3:00 p.m. at the Atrium SM City Cagayan de Oro.
