KASADYA STREETDANCING and MERRYMAKING 2009

The Iligan Jaycees, Inc. in cooperation with the City Government, headed by Mayor Lawrence Lluch Cruz, Congressman Vicente “Varf” Belmonte Jr., the City Fiesta Steering Committee headed by Hon. Brgy Captain Erlito “Doods” Dalangin, and the City Tourism Office will once again host the most awaited and the biggest cultural event of Iligan City – 25th KASADYA Streetdancing and Merrymaking Festival.

On its 25th year, KASADYA ‘09 will be staged on September 27, 2009, Sunday at the Anahaw Amphitheater, City Hall, Pala-o, Iligan City. The Festival has three features as follows:

1. The KASADYA Streetdancing Open Invitational Free Interpretation Category is designed to make Iligan the Center of Street dancing Competition in Northern and Western Mindanao showcasing various tribal dances.

PRIZES
Champion : Php 200,000.00 plus trophy
1st Runner-up : Php 150,000.00 plus trophy
2nd Runner-up: Php 100,000.00 plus trophy
Consolation Prize: Php 20,000.00 per non-winning group
Best in San Miguel Attire: Php 5,000.00
Best in Colorful Costume: Php 5,000.00

2. The Congressman Belmonte “Panata” Inter-Barangay San Miguel/Luzbel ESKRIMA Street Fight Competition is a showdown of the Barangays depicting the battle between the forces of good and evil.

PRIZES
Champion : Php 300,000.00 worth of projects
1st Runner-up: Php 200,000.00 worth of projects
2nd Runner-up: Php 100,000.00 worth of projects Consolation Prize: Php 3,000.00 cash per non-winning group

3. ABC Pres. Tete Pacana Señor San Miguel/Luzbel HIGANTES Contest for Schools, SK Councils, and Youth Organizations Category is a challenge to creativity using materials such as paper-mache, cloth, painted foams, chicken wires, indigenous materials, recycled materials, etc. to create a giant San Miguel and a giant Agta.

PRIZES
Champion : Php 20,000.00 plus trophy
1st Runner-up: Php 15,000.00 plus trophy
2nd Runner-up: Php 10,000.00 plus trophy
Consolation Prize: Php 2,000.00 per non-winning group
