Iligan City (2 September) — “We are touching lives by bringing the government services to the people…”
Thus said Ruben C. Gamale, Provincial Statistics Officer of the National Statistics Office (NSO) in Iligan City / Lanao del Norte Provincial Office, during its observance of the Statistics Office Anniversary this year.
During the celebration, the new concept of service through the Touch-Based Civil Registration Management System (TBCRMS) was introduced.
“We aimed at bringing the NSO personnel to where clients could be served right there at the location such as in schools, companies, barangays or local government units, and other agencies thru TBCRMS,” Gamale underscored.
She explained that the NSO personnel shall accept application for securing civil registry documents in Security Paper (SECPA), issue acknowledgement receipt of payment, and process the requested document.
Documents will be hand-carried by the NSO personnel in a specified time back to where the client is.
Gamale added that the clients shall make a letter request addressed to the provincial statistics officer, this city, to avail such services.
Other activities for this year’s celebration were the ‘Sagip Bata Program’, and a Tree Planted Visit.
As to the Sagip Bata Program, Gamale said that NSO intends to sponsor a child in an orphanage by giving a gift, or provide for his/her needs in school such as a pair of slippers, dress, pants, shirt and among others.
Meanwhile, Gamale said, “we visited the area where we planted trees in the previous year’s celebration, as part of our responsibility not only just to plant but to nurture them. (PIA Lanao del Norte)
