Iligan City Comelec conducts orderly registration of voters
ICC Iligan City — The Commission on Elections (Comelec), Iligan City Office, has reported a peaceful conduct of registration as voters committed themselves to come on the first day.
This was revealed by City Election Officer Annaliza Barredo of Iligan who confidently expressed that this would follow through the whole registration period, which began December 2 up to 20, 2008, in all areas nationwide, except in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
Barredo further explained that the applications for registration, transfer of registration records, reactivation and changes/corrections of entries in the registration records/inclusion of registration records/reinstatement of name in the list of voters, shall be personally filed on the stated schedule and shall resume on January 2, 2009 to December 15, 2009.
For Iligan City, we experienced a quick response from the electorate, people are now aware of their rights and the need to have it processed earlier, not to wait for the deadline set by the Comelec, said Barredo.
The Commission finds it necessary to prescribe uniform guidelines in order to realize the objectives of computerizing the registration of voters through the use of biometrics process, for the purpose of establishing a clean, complete, permanent and updated list of voters. This shall be conducted using the Data Capturing Machines (DCMs) nationwide, Barredo meted out.
Thus, Omnibus Election Code, Republic Act No. 8189 and other related election laws, resolved and promulgated on November 12, 2008, Resolution No. 8514 on the Rules and Regulations on the Resumption of the System of Continuing Registration of voters in the non-ARMM areas. (lvg/PIA Iligan)

Goodpm!! Gusto ko lang mg asked paano ko kunin yun voter’s id ko matagal na yun years na yun. Sbi ng comelec punta sa brgy. doon kunin tpos yun brgy. tibanga mg sabi punta sa comelec doon kunin. pinapasa nila saan2x. Sana this year kunin makuha ko na yun voter’s id ko.
