Iligan City Bombing – Photos of the Aftermath

Got an Email yesterday about a blast in Iligan City. Am sure that you have read the news all over by now.. so here are some iligan bombing photos to show you what happend on ground zero.

“I received a text message from my sister a bomb exploded at jerrys bargain center and unicity located at palao in front of maratel this happened past 2pmj dec 18.. pray for the safety of our beloved iligan” – Joel R. Dabatos

Then I started to get texts from Iliganons from Manila, so I decided to confirm this with people on the ground in Iligan. My confirmation came from Tony Alejo – “yup.. sarado yung area.. plenty army around.. there are 2 other threat existing.. red alert kaayo. Its in front of maratel office.. near the old Birds n Derbie cinemas.

1Lt. Steffanie Cacho, information officer of the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom), said the incident took place on two busy commercial establishments on Aguinaldo Street, Palao, Iligan City.

Cacho said the first incident took place at about 1:25 p.m. when a homemade bomb exploded at the baggage claim area of the Uni-City Commercial Center.

She said it was followed by another explosion at about 1:30 p.m., also at the baggage claim area of Jery’s Supermart. Two people were killed on the spot in this explosion.
