Tubod, Lanao del Norte (4 August) — Former Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo spearheaded the MKD tents and chairs distribution yesterday in various barangays in the province of Lanao del Norte.
The barangays that benefitted from the assistance were: barangays Punod and Rupagan in Bacolod town; Austin Heights and Sucodan in Kolambugan; Poblacion and Taguranao in Tubod; and Barangay Lower Sagadan in the municipality of Baroy.
Each barangays received a tent and 20 monobloc chairs.
In an overview of the program, Lyndon G. Calica, Provincial Information and Community Affairs Officer, told the recipients that these tents and chairs distribution were materialized during the recent barangay visitation of Governor Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo as part of his program on the Kabarangayan Sigurado Program.
Calica said that Gov. Dimaporo has instructed him to initiate the project.
He added that although it seemed less but the impact is huge since there are many ways the tents and chairs may be utilized and be of help for the residents of the recipient barangays.
Former Governor Dimaporo said, “In behalf of my son and with his blessing, I spearheaded the MKD distribution so that ang mga tents ay magamit ng mga residente (so that the tents will be used by the residents). These tents and chairs are not for private use or in furtherance of one’s self-interest, para ito sa mga tao. These could be used in different occasions like kasal, birthday, baptism, meetings especially that of the senior citizens, or even pag may lamay. There are endless possibilities of making use of these things basta hindi lang pansariling kapakanan. Ang ibang barangays ay bibigyan din as long as they will submit the required resolutions sa Capitol (In behalf of my son and with his blessing, I spearheaded the MKD distribution so that the tents will be used by the residents. These tents and chairs are not for private use or in furtherance of one’s self-interest, these are all for the people. These could be used in different occasions like wedding, birthday, baptism, meetings especially that of the senior citizens, or wake. There are endless possibilities of making use of these and not only on personal use. Other barangays will be given also as long as they will submit the required resolution in the provincial government).”
Dimaporo added that in case these tents are destroyed due to wear and tear and day to day usage, the same will be replaced as long as the destroyed tents are surrendered to the provincial capitol for auditing purposes.
Mayor Judith Miquiabas of Bacolod and Mayor Bertrand Lumaque of Kolambugan as well as the beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt thanks for being the first recipients of the tents and chairs which could be used by the residents without spending a single centavo should the need for these things arise.
